The Landeshauptstadt Saarbrücken has been working on sustainability projects for many years and has been committed to the 17 SDG goals since 2017.

A climate protection concept has been in place since 2022 – now the city administration is developing a sustainability strategy in a participation process with all offices, business and citizens.

The “Sustainability Steering Group” with representatives from business, science, associations, NGOs and various initiatives from the city society accompanies the process in an advisory capacity. In this way, Saarbrücken is creating the basis for an exchange and networking forum to promote sustainable action in the city.
