Integrated sustainability management starts right here: it brings existing initiatives to light, brings them together, and builds on them in a targeted manner.
A key starting point is a structured assessment. It identifies existing activities, highlights areas of strength, and pinpoints areas where action is needed—for example, in the context of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the same time, it provides a solid foundation for future direction.
Building on this, goals are defined and consolidated into a strategy that has political backing and is regularly refined. Implementation takes place within the various departments and is supported by appropriate structures as well as the involvement of relevant stakeholders from the administration, politics, and civil society.
In addition, continuous monitoring and reporting ensure transparency regarding progress and enable the targeted refinement of measures. This creates a cycle of analysis, strategic direction, implementation, and refinement.
