What are the GRI standards about?
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards is the most internationally recognised framework for sustainability reporting.
The voluntary guidelines consist of general “universal standards” (including the basic reporting principles, the materiality process and general information on the company, the reporting profile and corporate governance) and topic-specific standards, which depend on what is material to the company. At the end of 2021, the Universal Standards were fundamentally revised and their new version has been applicable since the publication year 2023. Since then, among other things, extended disclosures on governance and human rights must be made, in addition to mandatory sector standards.
