The Global Risks Report 2024 is out!
Since 2012, the World Economic Forum (WEF) has published the Global Risks Report every year in time for the meeting in Davos. The report comprehensively analyzes short and long-term global risks and classifies them according to their severity and probability of occurrence.
Below you can see the 10 most important long-term (10 years) and short-term risks (2 years) identified in the reports for 2024 and 2023.
A comparison of the two years shows that ecological issues such as extreme weather events and biodiversity loss represent the most serious risks in the long term. The short-term view also shows that technological risks, such as the spread of misinformation or cyberattacks, and geopolitical risks, such as interstate conflicts, are of considerable relevance.
