1 million pounds to solve global environmental problems
1 million pounds each have been awarded to the winners of the Earthshot Prize to further develop their solutions to some of our global environmental problems.
Prince William and his wife Kate, through their foundation ‘The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’, launched the Earthshot Prize a year ago and announced the first winners from 15 finalists in London on Sunday evening. The prize will be awarded annually for a total of ten years.
The Earthshots are five simple but ambitious science-based targets. Achieving these targets by 2030 would go a long way toward restoring our planet and significantly improving the lives of current and future generations:
PROTECT AND RESTORE NATURE – Award Winner Costa Rica.
CLEAN OUR AIR – Award Winner Laureate Takachar
REVIVE OUR OCEANS – Award Winner Coral Vita
